Who we are - Volunteers, mainly from churches in Durham.
What we do - Care for people, help them to enjoy a safe evening out.
Why we do it - We believe it's the sort of thing Jesus would do. (He was always getting told off for hanging out with people who ate and drank too much!)
StreetLights volunteers go out in the centre of Durham on Friday and Saturday nights to help and support people who are having some difficulties in the course of the evening. They may need help to find friends or to get home. In some cases they may need medical help or simply a friendly ear to talk to. We are there simply to help regardless of how anyone got into the situation they're in. To finding out more about what StreetLights is and how we work, visit the "About" section.
To get involved see the "what can I do?" page.
If you are interested in finding out more about the God we love and serve, then the Looking for God website would be a good place to start.
